I eat very little fruit as I can't be arsed & don't like anything other than oranges unless it's a slice of something else in a cocktail (prefer lime to lemon in my Tequila).

I do drink a lot of cider (no I'm not a Yokel) and that's fermented apple juice. So am I getting the required vitamins from cider?

Depends what kind of cider. If its the traditional stuff, perhaps. Bottled Bulmers? I doubt it.

Stowford Press or Strongbow.

I appreciate the proerties are different due to the fermentation so just wandered if it does anything other than get me pissed.

if you are not dead, your skin isn't an odd colour or bleeding, same for teeth, and your shyte is like shyte; solid like and and not resembling or feeling like hot chilli sauce, then I think you are fine.

Surprising how little nutrition humans need to get by.

Despite the detailed scientific reply above please note I am no Doctor.

If you can see bits floating and it comes in slices from the yokel farmers barn then it counts as one of your 5 a day.

Hmm, come to think of it I was pushing a '6' (see link) this morning but I was 2 litres of cider full last night chatting to my flatmate & got carried away.

Did you ever get round to trying 'Taurus' from Aldi?

As for it being 'one of your five a day'.... well this is what wiki says:

Conventional apple cider has a relatively high concentration of phenolics and antioxidants which may be helpful for preventing heart disease, cancer and other ailments.[7] This is, in part, because apples themselves have a fairly high concentration of phenolics in them to begin with.

Well if you like Strongbow, you'll probably like Taurus... but its half the price.

I can't tell the difference, but thats probably due to drinking so much Strongbow in the first place!

Definitely one or more of your "five a day" health-police diktats.
