Im looking for a new set of wheels for my Cerb,i know that the recommended offset for Spiders on the back of the Cerb is ET42 but does anyone know the minimum offset I can get away with on aftermarket wheels without fouling the arches?(18"or19" wheels-using 35 profile tyres)

I use 8J offset 35mm on the fron and 9J offset 35mm on the rear. It slightly rubbs against the arch at the back on the right side.

It is a common place to start rubbing from what I have read in previous threads. However, I think you can find owners that do not have problems with rubbing. Finding the right nice looking wheel can be a real surch however. The SP12 wheels are nice and they were developped for the Cerb. I know it uses 8J on the front and 9J at the back, but I think they do not what to reveal the offset they use. I've never read in here on the forum.

Sure there must be a Cerb owner with SP12 wheels who has read the data on the wheel. Offset should be mentioned on the wheels.

I've had a 9,5J with offset 35mm on the backaxle without a tyre, but too my liking it was much too wide. The wheel goes out another 6mm compared to the 9J. The 8J with 35mm on the fronts work fine. The original 8,5J with 42mm require stoppers on your frontsuspension. Not very good I think.

If you could get 9J for the rearaxle with an offset going into the direction of 40mm, I think this would be perfect. No guarantees however.

I found these wheels through a german member of PH. The brand is ASA. ASA is korian, I believe. They made these wheels under license of BBS for years. It's even casted in my rears. Another PH memeber once questioned if this was really under license of BBS. Anyway the license stopped and now these wheels are still supplied in a very wide variety of widths and offsets. They also supply a 8,5 rim with offset 40. Even 19".

They are not expensive and I really like the finish.Look at www.srbpower.com.

Ultralite has nice wheels, so does rota wheels. Depends on what you want and want to pay. You need to look at japanese cars. The 5*114,3 is a japanese fitment. I've spend hours on the laptop.

I too have spent hours looking for "different" wheels to fit the Cerb. One thing that puzzles me is the offsets required for Spiders on the Cerb. From what i have read ET42 offset should be fitted all round but then i have read thet the fronts can foul on full lock.If this is the case then why cant the rears from the Tuscan etc which are ET33 offset be fitted to the front of the Cerb?I.E swopping front to rear and vice-versa from a Tuscan.Im sure someone who has greater knowledge than us on the subject can enlighten us?

8,5J is too wide for a 225 front tyre. An 8 J is better because is suits the tyre. The 8,5 stretches the tyre. Normally you do not want that. Think that TVR was thinking more costwise applying the same rim allround.

The 16" wheels on the 4.2AJP are 7.5J offset 35mm. That is a bit narrow for the 225 tyre. So with the 8J offset 35mm you are right. Then you need to find the right fitment for the rearaxle.I would still go for 9J and offset 35mm. If a problem occurs (also depends on rideheight and camber) you can shave the arches a little bit. Personally I wouldn't go 9,5J. If you can get a 9J with offset 40mm, I think you are clear. But will you succeed finding the right design with these widths and offsets?

www.alloywheels.com

There is a rimwidth calculator on it (and more). For a 225/35R18 they say 7,5J to 9J.

But just look at a 8,5J spiderwheel and the sidewalls of the tyre. An 8J is perfect for this tyre.

A 9J at the rear gives you the freedom to fit 255 or even 265. Clearence to the body can become a problem. But I would not leave the 8J on the front. That's my opinion.
