Dyslexia not real?

I read this and was intrigued:

A few years ago I'd probably have taken a similar view, however one of my kids has since been diagnosed with dyslexia. The 'right wing' in me wants to shake his hand, but the 'left wing' in me wants to punch his lights out! However, the 'Dad' in me wants to shoot him!
In reality, the human brain is a highly complex organ and until we understand it I think it's unwise to make generalisations!
