Hi

I have been reading here and over Maserati forums about the 3200GT, but I have never seen one close up. I am thinking of having a look at this one

Firstly does anyone know anything about this car.

Secondaly would any one be willing to come and have a look at it with me?
I am based near Leeds/Braford and the car is in Preston.

Hi James,

Firstly, go and have a look at the car, take it for a drive and see if you like it, also find an auto (the one to have IMO) and try that as well. when you have found the car you want to buy, you must get it looked at by a specialist. a quick look round is not good enough, needs to go on a ramp and plugged into the SD2, believe me it will be well worth paying a few hundred pounds for this.

I don't know any one in the Preston area so the nearest i can recommend would be millbrooke cars in Sheffield,

My advice would be to take your time and drive as many as you can. have a good look on www.maseratiforum.co.uk and happy hunting.

And don't touch anything without FMSH, all the campaigns done and most importantly all the keys, especially the RED master key.

The black one looks quite good, but there are better ones out there.

I have heard all that you say re the red key etc. I have two 3200gt's, neither having the red key. They are superb cars, I moved to france and found the dealer here close to me was awful. I have a great mechanic who has looked after all my cars and now looks after my 3200's. When you think I bought the last one 33k miles for 9.5k it's crazy. The main thing that is wort doing, is make sure the belts have been done. I alos bought a ghibli which had only done 2k sinc eit's last service- three years ago, I found 2" of play in the timing belt - aving been serviced by a main dealer. if you have a good mechanic and sepak to keith at eurospares- you will be fine. I understand if there is an issue with the ecu then that is naother ting, but otherwise not having the red key is a heavy bargaining point. Amazing cars

And stuff does go wrong with the ECU. Check the advert, it's had a new ECU!!! If the ECU needs replacing you will need to factor into costs for new locks, keys etc. which takes the bill to over 4K!

Trust me, I have been there.....buying one without the red key is a mugs game. You have been very lucky so far.
