Radio code

[s,one]

Any idea where I can get the code for my Radio. Took the wrong fuse out by mistake which resulted in the system locking out. Checked the paperwork in the owners folder and nowt there.

You could try contacting the factory. Have done that with other Vehicles I've owned in the past and as long as you can prove to them you've got the car and not just nicked the radio, they usually come up trumps

Is it the original radio. If so I think all the codes are the same and linked to the model of radio rather than the car. I had the same issue and local radio guy just looked in a book and found the code

If thats the case i have a copy of the paperwork at home that reveals how to recode it. Mine was dead so replaced with different system. If you have a fax i can fire a copy over.

You can always stick it in the freezer untill the E3 clears and then stick you own code in

Did it for someone at work recently on a ford unit, put it in an ESS oven overnight, it worked

That would be true, but there is no way you are going to erase an eeprom by making it cold - eeprom's are spec'd to -40C and easily work down to -60C...

Can't be stored in an eeprom then as I'm unsure how you could make an eeprom that would have that sort of characteritics??? )

Sure it wasn't something like capacitor backed nvSVRAM in the unit? That would have issues with low temperature.
