Perhaps have an IQ test or something? In the olden days it seemed to be clever people on the interweb and now they let any old retard on - I believe it is the duty of PH to ensure that the thickies aren't allowed to post on here.

HTH, no fee for the idea.

perhaps a name and shame board?

Who are you?
What have you done?
What's your punishment?
What's your favourite type of bacon?

Mike.
Replied with a stupid answer to what could be a serious question.
Yet to be sentenced.

Could it not be made mandatory to put something into the cars tab when signing up, even if it is only the fantasy garage ? scratchchin

At least then you could get some idea of the posters status if they are expressing a specific opinion about a marque or vehicle. If you own it, or even allude to, you should get a bit more tolerance if you are expressing a point.

It is a motoring site after all, isn't it. Still ?

Just a thought.

Excellent idea!
If people are made to spend more than a few seconds signing up, it might weedle out the people that join just to troll?

So blinkered brand fans' opinions carry more weight?

scratchchin

It takes one idiot to post something stupid but two to have an argument about it after all.

Sorry, two separate points.

The first was in response to tubbystu and the second was in reference to Mr Will's comment about us sorting the wheat from the chaff.

Not always no, but if a reply is posted or even is started with a potentially contentious element or title, if they at least own or wish to own a particular marque then they might have a genuine reason to crow, rather just be starting an argument for the sake of it.

The classis "speed six engines are made of toffee and are crap" type thread, when the poster owns a VW and shows no sign of owning or wishing to own a TVR, therefore having no valid experience of the engine etc.

If they have a TVR and it again is in bits on the garage floor then they are a little more justified in their statement.

I think we will start encouraging people to add more info to their profiles, simply because it is always interesting to know more about people!

(maybe we need to fix it first though!)
