Christ, I watched it earlier as the other half had it on.

In the space of half an hour, someone had stolen a car, nearly run someone over, there was a protest involving a massage parlour, and someone else tried to remove toast from toaster with a knife (whilst standing in some convenient water) although im told i am to overlook that part as the is very ill.

For fks sake, can someone explain why they watch such ste???

Yeah, yeah. Another, "I just happened to see it while someone else was watching" claim. Bet you can name all the characters and the latest story lines in intimate detail too. wink

Ha ha, if you had me bang to rights i would be the first to admit it.

Truth is, i normally avoid all the bloody soaps by going for a swift pint-she gets to watch in peace, i get to not smash the telly through frustration of watching st

Yes it is.

I can never see the attraction of watching people bh and row. But I'm obviously in a minority.

Give me a cosy World War 2 documentary any day.

What's more depressing is how involved some people get in it.. Oooh, that X is a ba***rd etc.. and they shout abuse at the actor in the street...

Not googled anything, but seem to remember the BBC being swamped with flowers when one of them 'died', but no idea who, why etc
Shows the average level of the viewer i guess

The whole point is for people who are feeling a bit low to watch other people having an even worse time. That's the point. Anyone looking for a bit of a boost needs to look elsewhere. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of it whle changing channels, but usually I'm ok again after a few minutes.

I used to live with someone who used to watch it (this was about 20 years ago). I don't anymore and that's a very good thing.

My theory on soaps...

People watch Eastenders so they can think "thank god my life isn't that bad".

They watch Emerdale and say "thank god my life isn't that boring".

And Corrie to think "Thank god I don't live in the north".

We all know why people watch Hollyoaks.

Smiler.

A "masseuse" in Eastenders, yesterday... and a polar bear and Giant Haystacks.
