Travelling Economy Class?
Discussion
Your nightmares are about to come true. How long before we see the likes of BA doing this sort of thing.

Yeah, because ONLY killing 500 odd is fineIt's still far short of the record, though

Operation Solomon airlifted twice as many Ethiopian Jews to Israel as Operation Moses and Operation Joshua combined. The operation set a world record for single-flight passenger load on May 24, 1991 when an El Al 747 carried 1,122 passengers to Israel (1,087 passengers were registered, but dozens of children hid in their mothers' robes). "Planners expected to fill the aircraft with 760 passengers. Because the passengers were so slight, many more were squeezed in. Two babies were born during the flight.

They still have to demonstrate they can get that many people off in time.
Have you read the article?wow. 853 got off in 80 seconds.
In the simulation, all the passengers stood up when asked to by the crew and made their way to the exits and everyone got out within the allotted time.
The documentary makers knew that this bore no resemblance to human behaviour in a real accident, so they decided to repeat the exercise and inject a little more reality.
Okay, they couldn't set the plane on fire to see who would fry, so this is what they did: a prize of $100 per head was offered to the first 50 people off the plane - I reckon it had 150 bods inside.
When the command GO was given, all hell broke out as the passengers formed a huge rugby scrum to get out and win their prizes. Result? Less than 50 emerged, the remainder were chock-a-block rammed solid in the aisles and exits.
ps: don't flame me for the exact numbers, but this was the sense of what occured.

Only pikeys and chavs are going to go for a ride in a 1000 seater sardine can, so if it goes down you've got rid of 1000 of the pesky blighters and only lost 1 plane.
See, not so bad after all.

I like the idea.I also dont think it'd be anyworse thant he Economy area of 747s and the like. If they make it any smaller people simply would not fit.

So you are saying only pikeys and chavs travel in cattle class??Only pikeys and chavs are going to go for a ride in a 1000 seater sardine can, so if it goes down you've got rid of 1000 of the pesky blighters and only lost 1 plane.

Yep. All the pikeys and chavs go to Reunion for their holidays. I've been to Reunion, Guadeloupe and Martinique and they were all a bit like that. Other French airlines like Corsair have similar high density seating on their 747s going to Reunion and don't "just carry pikeys and chavs".
