well my mate has gone and done it, showing off his porker and got caught by a camera on Moulon pk Northampton
he thought he'd got away with it but despite the royal mail's best efforts, he got a ticket through his door this morning oh dear... in a 40mph caught slowing at the time at 70 so whats the damage do you think?

30 over the limit? oops! bye-bye license!
Nah! Just take the 3 points for refusing to ID the driver!
In this case this might be the best course of action! The fine tops out at a grand and I'll bet they'll charge him the lot if he tries it - but, depending, that might be better than a ban.
Your mate should at least ask for photographic evidence to see if the driver is identifiable.
After that then your mate needs to get some serious advice from a solicitor who specialises in this. Otherwise its bye-bye licence for sure...

I've just spoken to a solicitor (recommended by a PHer) re my NIP 82mph in a temporary 50mph. He said ignore it until they send a reminder. However I had asked for the photos and got them back, the drivers were not recognisable. He then recommended sending an un-signed letter stating that neither driver could remember who was driving at the time. He believes the longer one can hold up the process the more likelihood of them dropping it.

Isn't there a danger of ending up in court?
Is goign to court really that bad anyway? In my last FPN brush my legal advisor told me apart from the day of work a day in court was unlikly to cost me much beyond the FP.

We will both admitt to the offence if it comes to court, they can't prosecute both of us so they will have to chuck it.

well he's sending of the nip with signature etc and hoping for the best. I'm not sure its for the best despite his good nature, i think i would have taken advice at least, still fingers crossed, he is a bit worried though all the same
Please let us know how he gets on and if he gets away with a FPN.
