Hi All. When you renew your insurance, the broker/company always asks how much is your car worth. Well - how much is it worth? It’s a 56 plate Black 6.0ltr VXR with 53k miles and with AP's and Wortec switchable. It was listing at £37k but we paid £26k at the time GM discounted the last cars. I am thinking £16 or £17k - what do you think? I should say I am not selling, just want to make sure I put down the right figure.

Trade in will be about £14K or less, scary stuff but all performance cars have taken a big hit. I don't actually think Monaros have suffered that badly.

It Does not realy matter what you tell them its worth as they will only give you trade value in the event of a total loss. I think they only ask because you may under value it yourself. IMO insurance companys cannot be trusted and i speak from experiance as i run a fleet of vans so i tend to have more dealings with insurance than the average customer.;)

It does make a difference to what you value it at though as the premium goes up and down with the valuation - I have tried this. I have gone for £17k and would expect to get less if it ever came to it (lets hope to never find out!)

Thanks for all the replies
