Best way to fit the carbon lids is to get a sliding/loose fit during assembly then cut a thin strip of self adhesive velcro and fix one side to their short ends and obviously the other side where they rest down onto the chassis [Approx 8inches long and 6mm wide but trimmed in-situ to fit. This way you have not too much velcro so you have to wrench the lids off and enough to stop any rattles. The thickness of the velcro also lifts the lids up off the long chassis sides and stops vibration rattles.A small detail I know but works a treat on mine.I've done 80 odd miles now in the new GTR and it feels like the whole thing is just one big welded together piece.I was paranoid about rattles squeeks etc and paid particular attention to this area especially behind the sidepods where you can't get to when finished.I did have 1 terrible squeek and couldn't tell where it was coming from but when I used a 4X2 timber lever between the exhaust header and chassis I narrowed it down to the n/s engine mounting. On removing it I found 2 irrelevant metal tags which were polishing the chassis engine mounting plates.I cut them off both sides.
