Hi All,

This may be a dumb question, I have just lost a Breitling B2 watch. I lookes like the one in the link but is only the stainless version: http://www.onthefly.com/product/breitling/breitlin...

I bought it around 5 years ago for about 2300 euro, I added it as a named item on my house insurance (Abbey National), they asked me to get it valued from a Dealer at the time (Approx £2000), this is the value it was insured for. As far as I can see they no longer make the B2, so what will the insurance company do, given that I cant see a direct replacement for the B2 and any of the other watches in the range similar to the the B2 are a lot more money.

Any one had any similar experiences, I am waiting for the insurance company to come back to me so there may be no problem, I am just cynical about them all of a sudden saying it is 5 years old so there is £100 or something go and buy a second hand one!

The B2 was that price the last time I saw it. It's held value well.

Do you know if it possible to insist on them getting one or an equivalent new model. I need to check but I think the policy had an old for new section. Even if an equivalent new one in say £4000

Don't think the B2 ever had a direct replacement?

I'd have a hunt around some reputable watch sites to get some idea of how much 'similar' watches are for sale at and use that as a guide (for yourself at least)
