Was just thinking, I wonder why they stopped making Pearlescent paint for the Esprit. That color was so dreamy looking. I loved it. I would love to see an S4 in Pearlescent, or any newer Esprit for that matter.

Tony, I absolutely LOVE white Esprits. And I never see enough of them anymore. Actually I never see them anymore. All I ever see are V8's. Very VERY rare I see a 4cyl in White too. When I was a kid and first fell in love with the 91 SE in white, I used to see white Esprits every time I saw one. Now I only see silver V8s. ALWAYS.

Any more pics, better quality of your Esprit?

I totally agree!

I love the pearl white paint on my Commemorative Edition Esprit. Just washed and waxed it last Saturday and the paint just straight up shimmers! The best it's ever looked was one night when it was parked on a trendy upscale street with colorful neon from a nearby movie theater reflecting off the pearl paint. Totally hot!!!

Stays clean a long time too, just like my previous bright yellow Esprit Turbo before this one.

Roy, I see that you are on here now. I saw Mark Pfeffer posting recently. I have been trying to get more of the old timers here on this site. A few more people and it will seem like the turbo list of years ago. The list has grown so much I don't know many of the people like I used too.

Although the strange or unusal posting have settled down lately and no one has been getting flamed lately.

When it got weird a while ago I started spending more time here as there seemed more owner postings, not that I am stuck up or anything and have nothing against non owners but it did get weird on the list for a while with guys quoting as gospel and to find out it was based on no actual experience and did not apply to our cars.

I am so glad you got your car back and have an Esprit once again. I'd like to see your car one day. When ever you are in town let's have a nice visit. when you get a chance. I don't think you ever saw the toy box (a garage) that club member Dave Cammack owns. We sort of use it as a club fix it place. It has lifts, tools, and just about every type of equipment in there. Best of all a lot of room and heated.

Regards,
Calvin

Thanks Calvin! It's great to be here. Yes, I totally agree about the TE List. It's still like that nowadays and getting worse. It's not the same friendly list that it used to be. Thanks again for the wonderful treatment during my visit to Minnesota. If you or any of the LOONS (Lotus Owners Of the North) or anyone else here is ever visiting in the SF bay area, let me know and I'll get the group together for you in honor of your visit.

Thanks LotusACBC. Yes, I really love that pearl, especially at night. I've noticed that the lighter color cars look so good at night since all the outer extensions of the car, especially lower parts like side skirts show up better, unlike darker colors where it fades into the darkness. Same reason the Miami Vice Testerossa was painted white when it was originally black. The car showed up better in night filming.

I have some older pictures at home, but they're scanned pictures so they're not the best quality, but I'll be sure to take a look when I get home.

Thanks Lotus ACBC.

Yes, I really love that pearl. The scanned pictures just don't do it justice. The other morning when it was at the mechanic, the pearl paint was shimmering and shining so much that it hurt the eyes. One of the workers there commented on it.

By the way, that picture with the multiple Esprits was the Bay Area Esprit Group's first major event. I organized it a couple years ago. I called it the Lombard Street Run and we filled up the "Crookedest Street in the World" portion of Lombard Street in San Francisco with Esprits.

Here's the site:

Thanks, that event was a lot of fun.

Yesterday (Sunday), we had another event. In addition to all our Loti, this one also had some members of the Ferrari and Lambo clubs in attendance. We all met at 8:30AM and then drove down to Half Moon Bay at the edge of the Pacific Ocean along the California coast. After that, we had a most spirited drive (we were flying!) through a very fast and twisty road called Skyline. We all had a blast and flew by a police car at 130MPH which immediately made a u-turn, but couldn't catch up to us, especially since the roads were so curvy and the last couple members drove slowly. On the way back, I zoomed up on another police car, but was very lucky and did not get pulled over. All in all, a great day for a car guy. All we needed was some James Bond type women to make the day complete. Oh well, maybe next time.

Here's another picture of my car, although you can't see the pearl too well in this shot:

Here's a site that a clubmember put up of yesterday's event.

Your right, it looks more white than pearl in that shot, but its a very clear pic. I Like the pic of all the cars with skyline in the back, beaitufl dark clouds! Looks like a professional photoshoot LOL

Whos TVR was that by the way?

Hey do you have any interior shots of your Esprit? Or shots of it with the lights up?

Thanks,

It was a really fun day. Yes, at that point, there were clouds, but later after a nice brunch at the Ritz Carlton, it turned bright and sunny.

Sorry, I don't have any interior shots, but will have to take some in the future. For some reason, don't have any headlight up shots either. Will have to do that someday.

As for the TVR, it's a Cerbera 4.5 with a custom headlight treatment and new custom hood. It belongs to a clubmember named Faisal. I hear he had to go through h#ll and highwater to get it into California legally. Pretty wild. It's the only one I've ever seen up close here in the states.

I see there another white Esprit there with 03 wheels. I dont really like those wheels on older Esprits. Now the original ones that you have, those I like! The inverted rear wheel makes the car look so, I dont know, Lotus.

Thanks, that's my fellow clubmember Eric's 93 SE. He just put those Nova wheels on last week. Those things are huge! Pretty mean and I'm sure they have plenty of grip on those twisty roads.

Yes, I love the traditional Lotus look of my wheels too, but sometimes, I would love to have the performance capabilities of a modern, ultra low profile tire. It was work keeping up with those V8s yesterday! The car performed admirably though. Really happy with her right now.
