any car producing that kind of power is gona be laggy to an extent... but it wont be as bad as say a 1000bhp skyline!
and i suspect his comments are based on the intercooler positions which as far from ideal and are thick rather than large.... but then it looks like it works and were else would you put them in and Ultima?

GTR TT, the car looks great and it is very clear to see that the installation has been very well thought out and executed. I see that you are useing a six speed box, did you choose this variant deliberately or was it the first box to become available? I rather think this is the box that you planned to use right from inception and would like to know the reason for your choice and how you find it in operation, thanks, Wayne.

That's not my car but since it's built at the same time as mine by one of my friends, in the same garage I think I can answer for him
The six speed box is made for AWD turbo porsche. It's the strongest box with six speeds from Porsche (street cars) and easier to come over than a G50/52. It has LSD and the conversion from AWD to RWD is easily done. I still think this is the best box for Ultimas with much power. The new 997 and 996 GT2 tranaxles are also good choises and the wire shifter makes it so much easier. This silver car has turned white (as gandalf...) and has a six speed sequential gearbox fitted to it.
I'm not worried about the power of the thing (my 400ish bhp is more than enough me!) but I really like the way the silver one looks. . . it has been transformed by (and I don't mean this to sound like a put down)just shaping the borders of the windows, brilliant. . . .makes me wish I had a GTR now, don't think it'll look so good on a CanAm??

I was still genuinely hoping to hear why people think this will lag like mad, I have a forced induction project on with the same engine.
Anyone know where it is? Might be Sweden I think from recollection, I'd love to have a look!
Cheers, Richard

how about where the fuel tanks are on each side ''ala le mans cars'' then tank up front or in the side pods??and i suspect his comments are based on the intercooler positions which as far from ideal and are thick rather than large.... but then it looks like it works and were else would you put them in and Ultima?

I don't want to have tanks located in front or rear av car. ultima has possitioned the tanks where they are for a very good reason. Weight distribution! Theres a huge differens in how the car handles if you have 10 or 70 liters fitted in the front... Almost impossible to tune a car with such construction. It might be interesting to know that we designed our intercooler systems to be watercooled and we planned to have the watercoolers in the side intakes and an electrical water pump. As an experiment we tested our cars without water before finishing the system and found out that they worked perfectly good even though the possition over the engine is far from ideal. So why bother with the watersystem and the extra complexity and weight? If I need better intercooling I can add watercooling in a few days.
