Rain Storm Muppets

About 3 years ago I had given up on spotting more muppetry on the roads when I came across someone reversing round the Trade Center Roundabout.
But during the rainstorm on Thursday during my drive to Abu Dhabi I saw driving that would make that look like world class WRC drifting on ice.
To set the scene I was in the 350 when I hit what I can only describe as a cloudburst. I had lights on, wipers set to ballistic and was in lane 2 doing 80kmh and I could still barely see the road ahead. In fact I was seriously considering pulling over, which let me tell you takes some doing after years of the M62 and Whitby to Leeds during snowstorms/fog/heshing down rain. There were serious amounts of standing water and I aquaplaned slightly on more than one ocassion...and what do the muppets do (and there were multiple examples of each).
1) Drive with no lights on at all, could barely see from about 20m away.
2) Drive with hazards on...yup I know standard Dubai practice.
3) Maintain speeds well in excess of 120kmh
4) Change lanes/brake with no notice at all.
I mean seriously what the f
k is going through these mupppets heads? How fking stupid do you have to be to do this kind of thing? fk me they are all a bunch of s.

Funny enough, I do the same drive you do on a dialy basis and I was perhaps 30 mins or so in front of you as I did not get this "downpour" (it was at Ghantoot, no?).
The ones that get me is those driving in 4x4's who brake when they come to puddles/standing water!

bit like wacky races, i was doing this trip daily too, set off at 7.30 from the marina. Got 4 weeks in Dubai, then im off back to the commuting there 5 times a week again! I think we need numbers on the cars! 
I was in the same storm...really makes a difference the cars in front having no lights on. It was like what you see on F1 races in the wet. My little rental Yaris didnt aqua plane once!

My commute now only means I'm on the Main Abu Dhabi highway for about 20 minutes......and I don't drop below 160 from Mussafah to the Ranches! Bliss. Everyone else can use that racetrack, I prefer the empty country lanes!!

Reading this makes me so glad I don't have to drive there anymore...
Three years of Abu Dhabi clownage and another 3 years of Qatari muppetry were more than enough for my fragile blood pressure!
Now I just have to deal with dizzy blonde tarts who think lights are completely unneccessary on pitch dark mornings and evenings when I cycle to work...
