Not sure putting a Dodge Ram truck front end on it has really improved things much, but the slight restyling of the rear works well IMO.

Cheers

it was announced about errrr...6 months ago, as the Dodge answer to the Tesla - again, manufactured by Lotus, so good for us, keeping them in work etc wink

then Dodge hit hard times, and it was announced it was canned a few months later

then rumours have been going around in some of the motoring press that Lotus themselves are going to use it in their own electric vehicle in the next few years

Lotus are in an ideal position to do the EV thing, and if it wernt for the very expensive batteries then the Tesla would be a bigger sucess me thinks ....give it a few years and im sure an electric Elise will be heer - 300 mile range like the petrol one, as quick in a straight line as a 250bhp one, a bit heavier through the twisties for sure, oh and if they can just find an infrastructure that will re-fill one with juice in like 15 mins rather than 15 hours of course wink

I'd not want dodgy Lotus electrical systems in a car that needs charging at thousands of amps myself wink

Imagine an earth strap fault or short circuit with that sort of recharging power... the car would spontaneously vapourise... hehe

Seriously though Lotus are *very* well placed to take advantage of any move towards battery-electric vehicles (whether due to better batteries or political influence) and the idea of making a sports car rather than a tedious utility vehicle is brilliant, to lose some of the 'milk-float / Prius' bad image. If only the Tesla was cheaper (and quicker to charge)...

I think it looks Awesome!

The front bumper looks like it's a bit longer than the original europa front which I quite like.

Would I have an electric car though....No, not until petrol runs out!

The problem with leccy powered cars isn't the power, the range, or the weight. It's the charge time. No point in having a car with x00 mile range if it takes all night to recharge the bloody thing.
