MPs vote themselves exempt from FoI Act.

They bring in the FoI act, transparent government and all that, then get hacked off with people digging into their affairs, the High Court decides they have to divulge their expenses after a few challenges so now they've decided to exempt themselves by way of statuary exemption. No one else of course, just them.
Good work if you can get it....

Also loving the 'over budget olympics' preparation that's already started on the TV - already eating into the contingency funds. The tax payer (who is also about to be landed with $B debt on top of everything else) - was mentioned as the person who'll pick up the bill. I think this is the groundwork for an over spend of olympic proportions....quelle surprise, but they have started early.

So, they can smoke where they relax at work, whilst having a chat about how much they’ve fiddled their expenses, all with complete impunity.
And to think, leaders in ancient times lead by example, going through the same rigours as their subjects, eating the same food and leading them into battle.

What we have now is pretty disgusting – even more so as it’s a party that pretends to stand up for justice for the poor and work shy, whilst at the same time, living like kings.

Looks like the three line whip failed when the lib dems objected & refused to join in. The other two parties then let it slide and it has become the vote that never was.

Good for Clegg, on this issue at least....
