Does anyone have the current company net-worth for Lotus?

Just wondering.

"Ten percent of all the cars made in Europe feature engines designed by Lotus."

Interesting.

The profile needs updating for sure - Proton now own 100% of the company after buying out Romano Artioli (ex Bugatti)last year. The competitor list is interesting - Ferrari and Porsche, OK, but DaimlerChrysler?

All indications are that Proton plan to hold onto Lotus for some time yet. They are profitable at the operational level on £150m turnover but are highly geared with a lot of expensive debt. Paying that off will take a few years so I doubt anyone is interested in buying them - it was rumoured a while back that Ford were sniffing around, but they have their own problems.

With the Elise going into the States and some big announcements due, in particular the fruits of their flexible vehicle architecture programme with a major manufacturer, I'd like to think that Lotus is shaping up for a robust future. As to what they are 'worth' right now, who knows.

There's some good stuff in Victor Kiams interview from Autocar, kindly reproduced by LEW - www.lotusespritworld.com/EOtherstuff/Comeback_AutoCarMag.html
