i would personally go for graphite grey as the black wheels always make the tires look faded

What he said, and from experience black wheels show the dirt after about ten miles.

IMO black wheels is the way to go, its just whether you go for full black
or polished rims to set it off more

It depends on what kind of black, I think a matt would suit the VXR8 better than a gloss or satin black.

Nice motor though!

What they said...a dark graphite. If you do go for black, I think a satin finish looks best.

As for the Wortec stripes...I think that dark stripes along the bottom of a white car tend to make the car appear to sit higher. I was wondering why I preferred a plain white Focus ST (ooops I said the F word) to one with the blue stripes along the bottom; it's because the plain white one appears to sit lower. I know it's only an optical illusion, but it does make a difference.

Still lovin' the 'R8 in white though!!

I was thinking of doing the same on my R8, but have decided to go for graphite instead. It depends on the colour of the vehicle, you will get away with it being white............I have a spare set of wheels so I will experiment.........smash

Love the car in white, black wheels would spoil it for me,as would a black stripe.

What you have at the moment is "Finesse" with a capital F. (That's without the black windows)

Just my opinion because you asked.

If it were me I'd just do my own thing regardless. And they would be silver or white.

I too was pondering on going black berore Christmas when i had an accident with one of my wheels, but then i visited the local specilist who does an absolute pucker job, he strips wheel back to bare and powdercoats, i went for black Chrome, now my wheels are slver in bright sunlight, graphite when dull and black at night. My VXR8 is Evoke and it really looks good , will post piccies as soon as i get time off from work. I will be at the ACE meet if you wanna see in the flesh.

Hi vxrphantom I too have one in white and was wondering how your's was bearing up.

Mine has a paint problem with the top coat almost having rubbed itself off (rubbed itself off I hear you say) as if somebody has taken sand paper to it, on the downside of the rear arches both sides. I know it seems strange but only conclusion I have come up with is that water thrown off the back tyres has worn it down as it is right on the lip. Wodered how thick the white coat is? Think I may have to consult the stealer on this one.

She sometimes takes a couple of keyturns to get her engine turning. Cold starts is not the reason as it happens whenever probably 1 in 5 turns of the key.

Also a pain is how the white shows up the tar marks (but that's my fault I know as a matter of choice). On close inspection mine looks like a leppard and the stuff is a nightmare to get off (calc stick and elbow grease). Moan over.

Mine has this too, used the touch up paint but that didn't last very long, I don't think it's something that a stealer can fix, not for long anyway!
