6 Series owners, I need your help!

I'm having problems with the Sat Nav on my 645. It is a Business Navigation system (so I'm told) but whenever I put in the map DVD it tells me that the "Medium cannot be read." and the voice says that "Navigation is not active!". The drive reads audio CD's and MP3 discs fine so I suspect it is working, however, I've only had the car a week so not sure if I'm missing the obvious or not. The dealer is supposedly sending me another disc!

I've enquired about getting an up to date disc to replace the 2004 one I have but have been left even more confused when I was told that I need the profesional map DVD not the HIGH map disc which is the one that came with the car.

So three questions really,
1) Have I got a business or professional navigation system, is the only visual difference the slots on the dashboard. I have one slot.
2) To load the maps do I simply put the map disc in the dashboard slot and let it load or do I need to follow a certain procdure, insert the disc with a certain menu on the screen?
3) What disc should I be using the HIGH or Professional one? Is it a DVD or CD?

With one slot yours is def a Business nav. (it will also have a smaller screen than a Pro') Both Bus'and Pro' use DVD maps and there is no specific way to load them, other than dont turn off the key until its loaded. I would say a Bus' system uses the HIGH disc.

My screen is definitely smaller than the professional one's I've seen and the HIGH disc I've got is throwing up the error "Medium can not be read."when it is inserted. So if that is the right disc it's looking like I could have a faulty drive on my hands.

Looks like I may be going back to the dealers! frown

You need neither of those discs, you need the 'business' nav disc.
