Watches Newbie advice on SEIKO 5...Anygood?
Discussion
I've got one that looks like that. Bought it in ~1985. It still works fine. Couple of scratches on the glass from abuse at school, university and in clubs but other than that, it's stood the test of time. Got a feeling it'll out-live me.

It's a good start. The Seiko 5 is a good honest watch; it's not a copy of anything else, and Seiko made the innards themselves. It will be very reliable and keep reasonable if not amazing time. And a display back, too. Excellent!
You'll struggle to better the 5 for the price. And it's a daily wearer that won't chuck a hissy fit if you wear it in the shower.
