My self and the soon to be Mrs Monty will be stopping off in Vegas in April on the way back from Mexico. Now i expect its been discussed on here more times than the credit crunch but can anyone
give me some general tips on things i should dop before i go , what trips to G-Canyon should i do or any other must see things i should not miss in the 5 days we are there.

The helicopter rides over the canyon was cool, you stop on top of the canyon for a drink and snacks before a flight back over the hoover damn. Other than that, booking particular shows may be an idea. We went to see Ray Romano, Blue Man Group and the 'O' Cirque Du Soleil show, all of which were great.

I love Vegas!

Sundance helicopters do tours of the strip, Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. It might be a bit pricey with £1 = $1.50 now tho....

You can play a game: Beat the jetlag and don't bother changing your watches to Vegas time - you can pretty much live on UK time as there is loads of stuff to do 24/7!

My favourite Vegas experience was teaching the waitress serving us at the Blackjack table at our casino how to make the perfect Irish coffee. She'd been serving us for several hours already and had been bringing us drinks, food and smokes all night. As it was nearly breakfast time (6.00am) we decided to change tack and ask for some Irish Coffees. It took a few attempts to get right but we cracked it in the end!

As stated. Make sure the show in question is "O". Excellent. Dinner in Olives at the Bellagio is nice.

Do it all, the shops in the hotels are defiantely NOT to be missed the Mrs will love it in them I spent so much money in them, I stayed in the Belagio for 7days and had the best holiday ever, went to the pussy cat doll lounge in Cesars Palace went on a gondola ride, Definately the Stratosphear. I cried so hard when I went on the rides but they again where so much fun the Lion enclosure in the MGM and the King Tut museum in the Luxor the M&M shop the Cocal Cola shop. I could go on and on about it and it will be so hot as well I went in May and could only sit by the pool for a couple of hours at a time.

Yes I stayed there it is the most beautiful hotel ever. make sure you make time to watch the fountains, without fail i cried each time i watched them they are amazing and the music they playto the dancing fountains is mesmerising.

Not too sure about the player cards.

When i was there they have a chocoltears near the salons and they had a full on chocolate water fall thing. the pool it fab there is 3 or 4 if i remember they also have private sun lounge gazeebos with you own personal waiters.

Stayed there a couple of times but don't gamble so can't help with registering for player cards.

They'll give you a map to the lifts when you check in. It is easy to get lost first time. Last time we went we told them it was our wedding anniversary (it really was) and got some free gifts from their shop.

As stated above.
We done a weekend in Vegas in 2006 for our Honeymoon.

Look to Sundance for a trip to the GC- barter like mad- book direct & don't pay the concierge(sp?) at your hotel the 'going rate'- they may inflate it by roughly 30-40%.

Stratosphere- we had an evening meal in the revolving restaurant, food was good & lasted the best part of an evening. Was slightly strange watching Helo's zipping past while you're on your 3rd course

Oh, & do the rides on top of the Stratosphere- take some clean pants though


Freemont St. Light show is worth a look too

I went there for the hatton mayweather fight and stayed in the hard rock and it was OK, Im going back in March and will look at the strip this time, in particular the new " all suite" hotel at the wynn.

planning to fly to LA and hire a Harley to cruise across the Mojave ( hoping it wont be too hot). then fly home from vegas.

If you're only spending a few hours over the week on the tables then players cards aren't worth it.

Otherwise you might as well register. You show them to the pit boss when you sit at a table, and depending on your number of hours and size of betting you accrue "comp". This can range from a free breakfast (a few dollars value), to the really big gamblers who get free accomodation, credit cards for the shops etc etc. But you'll have to be really into it to get anything worthwhile.

On my visit I played every day for a few hours at least and by the end of the week I had enough for a free nights stay (deducted from my bill).

Make sure you have plenty of liquid during the day it get very hot and it is a very dry there aswell no natural water there if you understand what I mean.

Also do the shopping mall which is next door to Tresure Island where they also do a day time show of Priate and goodies.

We had a Mustang Convertible & crossed the Mojave in June- we got about half an hour in & we could'nt take it no more, the roof had to come up to protect us from the sun.

Once we got to Vegas, I resembled Zoidberg from Futurama

Had dinner for my 40th in the Strat. The food was exceptional but the staff were so far up their own arses it was unbelievable.

Staff seemed ok when I went there- cost roughly $200 for both of us & a free glass of wine with each course.

The only thing that did get on my tits was the bloody photographer- just fk off- I'm eating my tea
