Which "Bean to cup" espresso machine?

Just posted in the food and drink forum but suspect the thread may get more action over here.
I'm after a bean to cup coffee machine and just wanted some feedback on which one to get. Now I know coffee bods will tell me the way forward is to buy a good espresso machine and invest in a good burr grinder, but whilst I like my coffee, I often don't have the time to fuss. The bean to cup appeals because its easy - I turn the machine on, froth my milk in the mug, stick it under the spout and push the button. Then I turn the machine off, and clean/empty it as and when required (presumably once a week ish).
So I've seen the Gaggia's and the Saeco's, decided the Jura's are too expensive, don't like the look of the Siemens, and think that whilst the budget Delonghi's seem to be good, they don't look all that either. The Delonghi Perfecta range look good but I've not heard much about them.
So, any help?

Can't fault the coffee and beats the socks off all the current sachet ones (how environmentally friendly can they get !?)
Can adjust the grind as necessary and has a steam thingumy as well.
Not cheap though if you find one, although given it's longevity it's not expensive.

Can't really see the point, myself, in a bean to cup filter machine.

Budget ? I have a Neff unit built into one of my kitchen units but they cost about £1000 so you need to be pretty serious about your coffee.
Upside - its computerised so you can control the temp, strength amount of water etc very easily. It self cleans (you just have to pop a tablet in every 250 cups) and it makes a fantastic cup of coffee.
Downside. Its an expensive machine. Once you start doing bean to cup you will start experimenting with different beans and end up paying £25 for a small pack of jamaican blue, then realise this addiction has got way out of hand

For decent espresso you need one with a strong pump that can pressurise the water through the coffee.
I'd go for a Jura but they are quite expensive, although they do some cheaper models.
