As some of you know, I asked Lee some time ago to give AP the go ahead to produce some rear discs grooved, rather than drilled. He refused.

However I have spoken to Dave at the factory and they are now happy to give AP the go ahead, the only condition is that they have to make 10 sets.

They will have to be purchased through a dealer.

So who else is in?

When we get 10 people interested I will give the dealers a call and see who will give the best price .

They will have to be purchased through a dealer, but the factory did say they should be the same price as the normal rear discs. ( which is around the £130+vat each mark)

So are grooved better than drilled for heat dissipation then?

Rob, plus points to grooved...less likley to crack, no holes to get filled with brake dust. pads less likley to glaze. However they can be a bit noisier( is that a word?)
HTH.
Also they look a lot better as they match the fronts for people who have changed the front discs to grooved. smile

I'm told there is no real difference with them. However the grooved ones are stronger as the grooves are shallow when drilled go right through.

The brake feel is vastly improved as well as the heat dissipation.

I would be seriously interested in a set............but have no idea how much I'd be looking at.
Can anyone enlighten me as to the likely cost? smile

According to Alex...

They will have to be purchased through a dealer, but the factory did say they should be the same price as the normal rear discs. ( which is around the £130+vat each mark)

is 10 the limit or minimum? I may want some, i know my brakes are shot to bits but haven't actually looked at them yet to see what needs doing.
