Hi hoping someone can help.

I recently bought an LG 42" Plasma TV from directtvs.co.uk

Having enjoyed it for the grand total of 3 days it went pop one night and the internal glass broke from side to side. I wasn't even near the thing.

Now the shop is refusing to replace it as 'I must have dropped it' Refuse to even examine it

It was delivered 7 days ago

Short of physically abusing the staff (joke)
what are my options. They suggest I write a letter - I will - but have I recourse to LG and can I do anything with the credit card?

Many thanks

Call the credit card company - it will be insured against this.

Someone on avformums had a similar problem with a £4k Pioneer plasma and got a similar response. He reckons it was due to thermal stress caused by moving from cold lorry/warehouse to warm house. Hope you get it sorted. As a last resort your home insurance should cover it.

Thanks - what I don't like nis their response - they don't just break!

Can see why their prices are cheap - never again!

Its fairly obvious to see damage on the outer casing when they've been dropped when not in the shipping case.

Not coming to have a look at least strikes me as odd.

The second one down http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=98... is US based and starts off badly but ends with people being able to get LG to change the screens.
