2009 F1 cars are better looking than 2008

There have been a number of threads showing the launch of the new cars and how their proportions make them ugly. But after seeing a few of them now I must say I think they look truly great compared to 2008. My main reasons are:

1. They are simpler and smoother of design in general
2. You can see the shape better (as a result of 1.)
3. I prefer the profile of both the rear and front wings (particularly the front being lower and flatter)

The aerial photo of the F60 clinched it for me with those sidepods and long nose. Gorgeous.

So...take your vote then shoot me down!

winglets looked cool as hell, maybe you grandads with a hankering for the 70's and striking miners didnt like them but I did. Now we have terrible looking blobs with out of proportion wings. Id rather look at an IRL car now and thats saying something!

There are some nice shapes present this year that might not have been possible without the new regs, but the cars, in total concept, are very bad. I'm not sure when there has been a field of cars so scrofulous. I've never understood how one could get ill from seeing ugliness, but the R29 has taught me something new.

No way.

Late eighties / early nineties (think Jordan 191, FW14B or Leyton House 891), 3.5 litre engines, v8, v10 or v12, wide slicks, diffusers, add in a bit of development like streamlined wishbones and I'd be happy.

Why try to make F1 relevant to the mundane everyday world - it should be about fantasy - the most powerful cars, the best drivers, and the best combination wins. Rule stability would eventually make things more equal. Cut costs? Why bother? Go out in a blaze of glory!

I think the Williams is, the McLaren is. The rest look very out of proportion. I think the Williams and McLaren have very flattering liveries at the mo. Havent voted because of this.

Although they look out of proportion, I think they're more elegant and "racy" than last year's cars.

I thought i liked the attention to detail with the protruding appendages of recent cars, well the less ridiculous ones anyway. But have to say the sleekness and proper 'coke bottle' shape of this years cars are stunning. 2008 wings on them please.

ETA voted no on grounds of wings alone, could do with a 3rd option IMHO.
