Just like a few years ago I was astonished how quickly mobile phone shops sprung, lately I've been taken aback by how quickly personal injury offices have opened up in the most unlikeliest of places.

Today I was in a village in Somerset with a 4 shop parade near a church and the four shops were a newsagents, a pharmacy, a children's clothing store and a personal injury office!! Total population of the village will be no more than a few hundred confused Surely they can't all be injured!

Am I missing something? Are these places really making enough money to have offices springing up everywhere?

It's all done over the phone/mail/email.

They just need cheap office space/address in secondary (or less) locations

Most odd.

It is because personal responsibility is not something we look for in society. We are a blame society, and look for fault in others before ourselves.

Come on now, some people realy struggle on their meagre benefits. They must have some method of boosting their income.:

Exactly, and it's free money as well. It just comes from a nice magic pot so has no repercussions on anyone else

Go up to West Yorkshire, tons of them around.
Just a bunch of chancers trying their luck.

My Mrs has a salon in London, she got call from one such firm claiming to represent someone who had been in for an eyebrow wax 6 months ago and was claiming for disfigurement. Told them in no uncertain terms to come back with come concrete facts as their 'client' hadn't ever been in for anything, or, to fk off.

There was one on a temporary stand, in my local shopping centre. I as so tempted to trip over it, like the dozy muppets you see on their TV ads, then sue them for loss of earnings/whiplash/emotional damage & depression!

Simple answer? Because there are plenty of lazy malingering scutters to give them plenty of work.

Aye! My dad (vet) had one of those - someone claiming to have fallen down the back steps (out of the fire escape that was *never* used) and who wasn't even a client of his (so why would they be leaving his fire escape?). The annoying thing is that his insurance didn't even try to question it: they just paid out to make them go away.

A couple of years ago I was contracting at a software house in Didsbury, Manchester. The lower floor of the building was occupied by an ambulance chaser company owner by this geezer with a horrible mullet, big poppy eyes who shouted a lot; you could see him going round their offices clapping his hands exhorting his staff to get more business in. Also owns a double glazing firm that's advertised a lot. Also has some serious pimp bad taste cars like blinged up Bentleys vomit

Anyway, back to the point in hand, what a load of fkwits his staff were, utter thicko mongs of the first order. Cheap suits-a-go-go. There were some sofas on the ground floor for his clients to sit on while waiting. You could spot them all a mile off, innit.

West Yorkshire, never!!

"In one of the most serious abuses of the system, Mohammed Rashid, 37, the owner of the claims company Autotransform, in West Yorkshire, was imprisoned for five years after being convicted earlier last year of staging and exaggerating road accidents, "supported" by fictional eyewitnesses, to fleece insurance companies".

As I said - the people who I saw waiting to use double-glazing mullet-mans company were *all* the same. Innit. It was quite frankly astonishing.

However to be fair it's not all one sector of the populace that's up to this. There's a bloke that goes in pubs round here and he's forever having car accidents where he gets hit up the back - he's had about 12 now and (to use his phrase) "I always get my 'whipper' in". There is obviously no checking of any database involved here as he keeps getting paid out. He got 7500 for one ofhis first years ago cos he claimed that because of the "injury" he lost his job: he had actually been made redundant! It will come as no surprise to know that this weasel used to be in recruitment and is now a property developer rolleyes

Had a chat with an investigator from one of the insurance companies a while back. I believe they do have insurance black lists but I guess this tt has managed to slip the net. No doubt with the slump in the property market he & many others will be putting in extra effort to put their "whippers" in. Just hope no one gets seriously hurt by their antics but fear it's only a matter of time.

An advert I heard on the radio yesterday:

Voice of a man talking about his 'accident': "My daughter said her first word yesterday. I couldn't wait to get home to see her again so I was rushing - that's when the accident occured"
Voiceover: "Have you had an accident like this at work that wasn't your fault? Call Bullst Claims now..."

In their very own ad they're telling people that even if you're the cause of the accident it's not your fault. banghead

Oh better than that - he's gone and remortgaged a property and secured an extra £160K by claiming that he still works at the recruitment consultancy! He hasn't worked in 5 years. Oh - and he pays no income tax or any other since he claims he's living on "past glory" or some such (not the rent or sales profits on his developments. Oh - and he runs his car on red diesel cos he can't see why he should pay so much in tax.

I swear that this is not bullst. (I know this tosser a lot better than I'm letting on; he is genuinely an utter waste of space).

The reason is because there are lots of people out their too lazy and ignorant (or just plain thick) to be responsible for their own actions and out to make a quick buck and too many leeches looking to take their % cut as well. The more people fleecing the system, the more people to provide the service.

The smell always follows the st.

Wouldn't all this be of interest to the Dept of Work & Pensions, I'd be having a chat with them if knew him.
