Ok, so we know we've got one of the meatiest monsters on the road, and we spend our lives fending off spotty faced individuals in their almost unrecognisable Nova's, but occasionally you do get to give a good a$$ whipping.

Mine in my short 2 months of ownership happened last week, quite late at night, at a set of lights on a dual carrage way, a guy in his new Audi S6 Quattro pulls from behind me to beside me (thinks he owns the road or something), lights goes green, "Boom"(lots of V8 burbling) and that was that, next thing I knew he was in my rear view, looking quite put out that his 50k motor hadn't been up to the mark. Lesson to be learned here, "please, it's a TVR!!!!!"

There must be plenty of stories like this out there?

Someone who will remain nameless, out in his cerbera speed six on that road that runs right through Brighton past the Marina on the left (sort of a dual carriageway that runs along the coast) anyway...at the traffic lights and some loon in his ML55AMG pulls up alongisde and starts revving his car hard in order to declare his intention (gauntlets and all that, after all you have no cahnce of being able to look at the driver of a cerb if your in an SUV).
Said driver puts the cerbera in reverse and pulls back a car lenghth to the rear of the Merc. to give him a head start waits for the lights to change....you can guess the rest,(wastes him) i just hope the merc driver didn't have someone on board that he was trying to impress, talk about rubbing it in!!

Did the same thing with a Scooby on a runway. Thought its 4WD and electronic toys might make it close, but it was no match for brute force

OK - just for you:

On a two-lane autobahn in Germany stuck in a long line of traffic getting past a load of trucks, when an M5 can screaming up behind me, flashing his lights and trying to get into the boot. Why? Who knows - there was nowhere I could go: cars in front and nose-to-tail truck on the inside. But that fact had clearly escaped the M5 driver, who kept flashing like he expected me to levitate to get out of his way.

I was doing about 90 as the last car pulled back into the inside lane and Herr Beemer obviously expected me to get out of his way - so I did... by dropping down to third and flooring it until I hit 160 or so. I couldn't see his face as it was very quickly a spec in the distance, but I'm sure it was a picture

I changed from a Scooby to my Chimaera and there is NO comparison...I got bored of the Scooby cos all you have to do is give it 5000rpm and drop the clutch...no skill needed at all...if you do that in a TVR you end up looking the wrong way

Can't resist can we , I was at a set of lights in the inside lane mindind my own business , busy duel carriage way a 911 turbo pulls up beside me passenger leans out his window , says " on green lets go " well what can a driver do the strange thing was all the other cars opposite didnt move they were waiting to see the race I suppose , to say the porker didn't stand a chance is an understatement I was gone before his turbo had a chance to spin up and his waste gate to close, you can't beat GRUNT. He matched my acceleration eventually but for instant power give me the V8

Last weekend I was on the A43 heading south towards the M40. A couple of roundabouts before the M40 some fool in an Audi TT thought he’d try and scoot round the inside of me on the roundabout and out accelerate me onto the next stretch of dual carriage way. I was in no particular hurry and didn’t really take account of what he was doing until I heard his engine screaming as he drew alongside. I looked ahead again and there was a lovely stretch of empty flat dual carriageway for as far as I could see. By the time the 2nd change up light came on in 5th gear Mr TT was barely a dot in my mirror.

Disclaimer: My 2nd change up light is set to come on a 2700RPM

Damn Audi TTs, even my other half had a TT try it on when she was in her MR2 (the new type). The odd thing is the TT is technicaly faster to 60 by a second or so, but Linda showed her that driving is not just about performance, it is about being able to drive.

Sitting at roundabout at the London end of the A1 in my Chim when a 360 pulled up beside me. Fat oaf in a Toileta Landbruiser shouts out his window "Are you going to race him then" We both shoot disdainful looks at said oaf, but when lights change we both floor it. 360 sat behind me for quite a well but I reckon he was just taking it easy. Pretty good fun though.

Sorry if not TVR related, but it made me smile. There was a story in EVO about someone who was taking a Makka F1 over to Germany...

He had some exec in a 7 series up his arse while waiting to overtake a lorry. So he pulls over after getting past the lorry and sees the puff of smoke as beemer man floors it. He follows him up to 150 then draws along side. Gives him a look and a smile while dropping it into 3rd and leaves him for dead.

I wish I had of been there

Not really fair, I know, but just after we got "Wol", our Griff 500, I was going along the A50, passing some lorries at 60-ish. Two yoofs in an Astra came up behind, both faces apparently stuck to the windscreen, urging me out of the way.

Naturally, I accelerated out of their way, and returned to the inside lane. About a mile later, said Astra came past, with passenger reading a book and driver "eyes Front!"

Nevin,
I've also got a "Landbruiser" as you so tactfully call it.

Was driving down to London, pulling out of a slip road, from a service station, indicated and floored it, going up through the gears, saw the car in the rear view mirror pull into the right hand lane to overtake whilst I pull out. He gets level with me, look across and see it is a black TT with laste 20 somthing in it with his blonde gf. He glances across at me looking at my S. I keep level with him for a bit, grin and wave then change up to fourth and disappear off down the road. Slowed up a mile later and eventually a black TT cautiously pulls out to overtake, slowly. Eyes front, girl staring at the Tiv
