when i got my cerb it had both the standard alarm and imobliser as well as an aftermarket one.

first question?

where can get a second remote and key for the standard system.

also is the range in this system allways crap?

next point my drivers door wont open its self when the button is pressed the catch releases but the door wont pop open you have to give it a shove any iedas?

the next rant is about aftermarket systems. the one on my car is the type with the little key that you touch in the slot to deactvate.

last night after dinner at the pub with friends they all drive off i go to start my car and the thing wont deactivate so after hitting it and fiddling and the like it works and i can go home.

looked in the back today to find a black box with lots of wires. cut into the ignition control box.

cut 1 wire twisted them back together and starts first time even though the light is on to say the system was active.

quality product..

even think i have a reciept for its fitting somwhere.

most of the old main dealers can supply replacement fobs.

it sounds as though your door is binding when the solenoid releases. I had that problem. It could be one of a few things.

1. sticky latch - try wd40 on the electronic keep.

2. binding latch on keep. Open the door, loosen the bolts that hold the lock and latch in place- just enough so that the lock and latchg can move but not be loose if you see what mean, close the door to allow them to move slightly, open door and tighten the bolts.

3. the door could be binding on the fibreglass door reveal - if its that the door hinges need adjusting - dont try it get someone who knows waht they are doing to do it for you

4. On mine it happens if the rubber seal is not quite in position so the seal does not press hard enough on the door like a spring to make it open when the latch operates.

Are you sure you have an aftermarket alarm/immobilser fitted? It would be very unusual for someone to have gone to the trouble to fit an aftermarket one. All Cerbs have a META alarm as standard with that little plastic key that you push into the slot in the front cubbyhole (And in case you don't know, you never have to use it). If it is a standard alarm then the man to see for a new fob is Carl Baker - very helpful guy, ring him if you have any alarm problems.
