At it's peak, this show was the greatest TV show ever, unfortunately it's peak was several years ago and the bad seasons now outnumber the good. There must be plenty of fans on here, I don't know the actual names of my favorite episodes so I'll just do a brief description:

The one with Michael jackson
Homer only has 24 hours to live
Mr Burns' bear Bobo
Beer baron
Mr plow
Hank scorpio

The show's subtle humour, social commentary and ability to be both hilarious and emotionally affecting has never been matched IMO, just a shame they are still churning them out when the new episodes are so unutterably gash. What are your favourite Simpsons moments?

I agree, I stopped watching it around season 15 as it just wasn't as funny as it used to be.

Too many good bits to mention, but the You Only Move Twice episode is one of the best (Hank Scorpio).

I love The Simpsons, but agree that good episodes are now few and far between. The writers have made enough jokes to that effect themselves.

Favourite episode has to be when Homer and Ned went to Las Vegas.

I quite enjoyed the movie. I figured they used any good ideas they had for that - to the detriment of the regular tv show.....possibly.

Lately they don't seem to be able to effectively write a conclusion to episodes to they just do a bizarre cop out. A prime example being when Bart is in court and it ends up with someone shouting "surf's up" or something similar & everyone surfing over the closing credits.....

You only move twice is genius, as is the Frank "Grimey" Grimes episode.

The episode when he can have $10,000 or an elephant is a classic. Stopped watching the new ones has they just are not in the same league as the first 9 or 10 series.

Frank Grimes. That episode is excellent, although i would agree, the simpsons has lost a lot of its shine.

I like family guy and south park just as much.

Am I a wuss for admitting that the 'Lisa it's your birthday, happy birthday Lisa' song from the Jacko episode actually brings a tear to my eye?

There is too many to mention for me..

The one where bart becomes a daredevil, or the one where he becomes the hall monitor, or where they have to get the lemon tree back.

Where homer becomes the beer baron, or where they find the body in the Quarry.

All top notch viewing. As said it takes a very special cartoon to amuse children and adults, this did that, and not to mention the huge amount of actor's voices used over the years!!

Love it.

The Citizen Burns one was fantastic, the one where Homer led the powerplant workers out on strike over dental care. "Book of British Teeth" rofl How many subtle references in that one?

For me, the best episode still is one of the very earliest ones.

The family attend Homer's work do at Mr Burn's house and end up in Dr Marvin Monroe's family therapy centre, where they procede to electrocute each other until the grid collapses. It is just plain genius.

That and the one where they go camping in the new 'RV' - Homer can't afford 'The Ultimate Behemoth'. hehe

You would think that a man with exceptionally large feet standing on a rake and getting whacked in the face fifteen times would lose its appeal, but nope, it remains funny every time I see it.
