Swindon Lotus Dealership (hello anyone there?)
Discussion
As the title suggests, popped into the Lotus dealership to have a nose and the site was dead? No cars outside just a token number of specials inside the building it seemed.
Even the main F&L dealership was quiet with 2 salesmen taking photos of a lovely white 993.
So whats going on?
(really wanted to have a look at the orange exige they have atm

)They have always ignored Lotus to a certain extent, they are always more interested in the top end stuff. It's got worse since Matt left and they have no dedicated lotus sales guy.
I was in their last October in the service dept and they were keen to get me into a new car. The ones they had in were not quite was I was after (wanted PP and Sports pack otherwise I wasn't interested), and they made all the right noises, I had to chase them and eventually gave up. This was after they said they just needed to shift units, and were happy to take small margins they just needed the stock to flow.
Saying that they are now ordering more demo's and there are two new PP's coming in the next few days.
I have found if you are going down there always ring ahead and they are very helpful, unless they know you turning up unannounced just gets you branded a tyre kicker and you are left to browse. I think Stuart is now picking up Lotus, that may have changed again though.
If you are after an Exige in the area it's worth checking out George White Supercars, Matt (ex DL Lotus sales) is now there and is focusing on Loti, they seem to be getting a fairly high turnover of them lately.

Unless you are after orange!
Give them and call and ask for Matt, he often gets in cars on request so may be able to help

TBH I was really just having a browse without wanting to waste anyones time.
Hence why i didnt approach the salesmen there, i just thought it was disappointing that they didnt have more stock.
But its interesting what you say about low margins, they offered me a while back a silver demo car (elise S) at a very good rate. Didnt think they would also do this with the more desirable stock.

The Lotus side is more or less on request now, if you go in to the main dealership and ask then they can open up the Lotus part and sort you out.
Yep thats how i dealt with them a while back and tbh although Matt had just left they were more than helpful in helping understand what i wanted. Thanks guys think this one is now solved.
i bought my aspen whte exige s off matt at the start of this month!
most communication by email, despite my never ending question regarding the car he was always had an answer.
unfortunatly i never got te chance to meet him as was his day off the day i picked my car up
i would recommened george white super cars.
although they dont have a servicing of cars or anything, they bring them in prestine examples
