Does anyone actually spend any time on them? What can you do? What is the point?
Is it just something to pass the time and allow a fat sweaty spotty bearded geek to pretend he's not?

I tried Second Life for about 2 weeks. After being told off for repeatedly wearing a house on my right leg, I got bored. It's just a graphical chat room that's sluggish compared to normal chat rooms and you can play The Sims without tasks. Imagine, if you will, World of Warcraft, but without the killing and quests.

Indeed, an MMORPG but with nothing to do.Silent1 said:
I got banned from second life for firing 8' sperm at people and setting off mario bombs.
lol Sounds quite good, if only to piss off people who take this Second Life far too seriously ...
Wasn't there a story a few months back where a couple underwent divorce proceedings because the husband wouldn't stop marrying/talking to women on Second Life?Edited by Ikemi on Wednesday 21st January 14:28

The irony being that they actually met on Second Life in the first place. Then she logged on as her character one night and found his character doing the deed with a stripper. So she filed for divorce and IIRC is seeing someone else she met in Second Life now.
