Phone ringtones - i just want a ring ring ffs!

Im pissed off, just bought a sony ericsson phone and theres no standard 'ring ring ringtone'. So when im with clients and it goes off with some silly ringtone its not good! Ive tried sending them via bluetooth from my previous nokias but it wont let me as its a protected item. Any advice?

I had to DOWNLOAD one. Not kidding. All the ones on my phone were along the lines of 'hypno-techno' or 'euphoria bursting from your trousers'.

Can you record the ring from your Nokia onto your Sony using the voice recorder and then use that file as your ring tone?

does it have a memory card? copy a ring ring wav onto the card, and put it into the phone.

Find an mp3 of one on this here internet, and type the web address into your phones browser.

Should download it automatically.

A new SE, which one?
Can it play wav or MP3s? If so all you need to do is copy from PC to Phone a suitable sound using the USB cable.

Then just google for ringtone MP3, here's one - http://mosh.nokia.com/content/40D5BEA15CC6B803E040...

There are loads more samples on the net, either free to download or play the sample and record it using Windows Sound Recorder or Audacity.

Then copy it over to the phone.

I've never felt the need to use any other, never will - it's a phone FFS's!

I have a high pitched tone, you can just about hear it but you instantly know it's ringing.

Bit like when you know the telly is still turned on, you know what I mean.

Ive just done than and when i transfer it to the phone, it thinks its a document and wont open it. I need to change the format somehow but again, i dont know how to

Which folder did you copy it into. Also which SE is it and are you certain it can play MP3s?

My work one has Life in the fast lane by the Eagles, pulled off the MP3 & downloaded off of my MP3 files.
Just copied to my personal SE 595.

I spend all my work days in schools teaching music, a good portion of my evenings teaching instrumental lessons, and quite a few of my evenings off rehearsing or playing in bands - so my phone lives on silent/vibrate mode. I don't think it's made a physical noise since I've had it. I can always feel it ringing in the pocket, or hear it bzzzzzing on the table, and it never disturbs anyone, or makes me look like a knob. Win win!
