This is the scheming little bu66er.

He is usually only manipulative with other people.
Typical behavour, person enters house, he greets them then flies off to get his ball. He lets them throw it once smile He brings it back and places it at their feet and goes into sheepdog stance at a distance. As the person bends down to pick up the ball he rushes in and grabs the ball. Runs round the room giving them the paw (finger). Then repeats this as often as the visitor will biggrin. He now considers this visitor adequetly trained and will wait the next human he can con.

He doesn't do this to me. (of course)
However a few days after his annual service (shots etc) he developed a limp and was quite under the weather, couldn't stand etc. Took him back to the vet who could find nothing wrong. Got some anti inflamatary tablets and the "bring him back if..." etc.
For three days I carried him outside so he could go to the bathroom, then carried him back. Lifted him onto the sofa, carried him to his food bowl.
Yesterday I carried the poor limp little dog outside for his daily abultions.
My neibours dog barked and he flew across the garden like a rocket.
On returning to the house he hid under the dining room table and did not come out even for his favourite treatbiggrin
Today was spent re establishing a few basic commands followed by a game of hide and seek.
Things seem to be back to normal.
He is normally a very obedient, does long stays, will go over jumps etc.

I'm glad he is not sick, but I do feel this little mutt outsmarted me.

Thats why we love em!

I have one who hides her toys in my bed, then decides that I am not allowed into bed until she retrieves each one (more than 5) and she has placed them in the ensuite towel cupboard.... (she even makes me open the door for her!)

Yes we are well trained arent we!
