OK, a few days a go I posed about the Hazard light (queue previous Dukes of Hazzard jokes) not being properly "lit" when I turned the lights on in the car (you know the score, side lights on = dash illumination)
So I took the car to the dealers and they fitted a new module (as a light had gone in the old module)
However when I actually went to use the car in darkness, I've discovered a 7mm scratch on one of the buttons on the AC unit of my X-Type (FWIW X-Type and S-Type owners: it's the "Auto" button on the AC control)
So when I look over at the centre console of the car I now have an annoying scratch on one of the buttons and as the scratch has gone thru the paint, it's letting light out. It's not too bad at dusk but at full night time it's a tad annoying
I've phoned the dealership (Jaguar main dealer), who said: "Well if it wasn't there when you dropped it off sir, we'll order a new one, bring it in and we'll fit it" (for free - I'm not paying a bean)
But thinking about it, I could get a very fine black marker "rub" the line out, I'm sure the module is not cheap and in these difficult times (I work in IT and am having to fudge PC repairs as there is £0 budget for new kit), the other part of me thinks about the principle of it and says "Sod it, it wasn't like it when I took it in, you damaged it - fix it"
Am I over reacting?
Cheers for thoughts etc (and please feel free to make Dukes of Hazzard jokes)

THey scrathced it, and have offered to repair if FOC and you're wondering whether you should bother?! Are you mad?!
No, not mad - just wanted the opinions of others! The OH is of the opinion that it's not worth it. I was in two minds so asked fellow PHers - there are those like you who said yes and then SingleCoilthe other poster who didn't think it was worth itEdit: Just looked at the results (I'm surfing via a PDA phone) it's going to the dealers!!
Cheers
Mike
