So, what would you do then?
Discussion
Imagine your company/organisation/girlfriend/boyfriend (delete as appropriate) has a particular problem and somebody writes to you to ask what you intend to do about it. Would you simply ignore the trouble maker/concerned party/enthusiast/PITA (delete as appropriate), or reply with a positive statement?
Example:
Dear Local Motor Circuit
Congratulations on the planning permission.
Can I ask what the plans are for improved access to the circuit, and also in particular to the road system? As a regular visitor to your venue (a former box holder) & the British Grand Prix at Silverstone I know that access & egress is currently your Achilles heel, and Silverstone's crowning achievement.
I am sure a positive statement about how you plan to tackle this major headache will increase your attendance significantly.
I live near J27 of the M1, and I currently reckon to be home from the British Grand Prix before 19:00, a testament to the 4 lane egress system on the A43. I can't shake this feeling that despite you guys only being three junctions down the motorway, I am likely to still be in the circuit at 19:00!
Any information that you could provide with regard to the traffic plans could hopefully allay my fears.
Thanks, and here's to a golden future of local F1

Hmm, It is a difficult one, particularly as I suspect they don't have a workable solution themselves. On the other hand i would be tempted to send an e-mail (or letter if no e-mail address provided) along the lines of.
"Dear Mr XXX
Many thanks for you recent letter and interest in this exciting project. Amongst the many challenges facing us over the coming months access to the circuit is something we consider a priority. We are working closely with the relevant bodies and hope to be in a position to release a statement later this year which should address your concerns.
In the meantime we note that your previous interest in our circuit's cooperate hospitality opportunities. We have added your details to our database and shall be sending you details of or debenture scheeme, when this is announced in full in a few months time, in the hope of renewing your association with XXXXXXXXX XXXX.
Love,
Andy."
So in summary I would reply if I had an answer which I felt would resolve the matter (and the matter was of any concern), if I felt there was something to be gained from doing so, or if I felt that damage could result from not providing a response.

I wouldn't wish ill on anybody (maybe with the exception of Diego Maradonna), but I'm sure glad that market forces seem to have averted a catastrophe for British F1. As much as I like Donington as a circuit, the way everybody seemed to stick their head in the sand with regard to access really bugged me.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
