War with Russia and China?

With reports of China and Russia becoming Communist friends, participating in wargames together and both openly commenting that it's training to combat the American grip on the globe, should we be preparing for war?

China and Russia both have enough money to fund a war, both hate America and are both equally important in the economic market (Russias oil and gas, China'a labour and manufacturing industry).
With the main western countries still struggling under recession, surely the next couple of years would be the perfect time for a country or countries to strike out at America?

Economically Russia needs Europe to buy it's energy and also so does China. China needs the US and Europe to buy most of it's goods and also needs the 'west' for high value services/technology and know how. There will be many periods of 'sabre rattling' by both Russia, China and even the US but I doubt it will ever lead to any kind of war.

I think they dislike America, not hate them, who would want to spend the live of millions of people waging this war. Neither side is my guess.

China's been loaded the last 10 years, a lot of the western countries have been outsourcing pretty much everything. So while we've been enjoying relatively cheap electrical and mechanical goods courtosey of China, they've been stuffing the money in the bank.

Hate maybe a little strong, but most countries are now pissed off with America's controlling ego bearing down on them. It's not about money but more who wants to be top-dog, America and Russia have scrapped over who will become 'in charge of the world', hence the cold war. China's getting pretty big now and it wouldn't surprise me if they wanted the title for themselves.

The US is a huge market. Russia's and China's economies depend on the US market... where do you think China sends all its crap that it makes.

We live in a global economy where war destabilises everyone and everyone loses.

Conflicts between major powers and lesser states can be accomodated in the global economy i.e. US in Iraq

But major conflicts such as Russia/China vs US would completely destabilise the economy as we see it now. Such a conflict would alter the economy to put whole countries on war-footings and their economies feeding the war effort.

In this, the US would win.

Modern major conflicts wont imho be won militarily but economically. And the economics that will win out will be levels of manpower of a certain skill and quality, manufacturing ability of a certain skill and quality and material availability. Russia and China dont i reckon have these. The US does.

Surely it could all be over in a couple of days though, the US and UK tactics would destroy them in a matter of hours with 1 or 2 carefully placed Nukes.

The same things the yanks spend their money on, bigger and better guns. That's how they stay ahead of the game. So china has some extra cash, which can easily be turned into funding for a new arms race. Anything America has, China can buy.

Just who would China play war games with anyway in that part of the world. Japan? No that would get personal. North Korea? Well they have an ageing USS Puebla that they nicked back in the 1960s and I can't recall any other Navy ships they have and their Army although the 4th largest in the world is medieval and I don't think even China would trust them to place nicely.

That leaves Russia with a comparable combined Army/Navy/Airforce and I'm sure Russia are only more than happy to play games with China if it allows them to see just how good their Asia/Pacific rivals are.

I'm assuming they have banks stuffed full of American dollars. Now let's say America's economy really gets stuffed, then by extension wouldn't those dollars become worthless ? If so it wouldn't be in China's interest to undermine the US economy.

I'd suggest cash becomes worthless in a global war. What would stop the US from cancelling all old notes and reprinting new notes thus rendering the store of cash held by enemy govs worthless !?

Not 100% accurate these days, in many areas Chinese manufacturing is up to a level to compare with the Japanese. Their QC still isn't perfect, but it's getting there.

Assuming China and Russia didn't use their considerable stocks of nuclear weapons to take out ours first you mean? The SLBM's are the only ones we'd really be able to count on. However they know that, and that's why I don't think this would happen. Not at the moment anyways.
