Remembering Mike Hawthorn

It was 50 years today that Mike was killed in a road accident on the A3 in Guildford and although his life has been mentioned quite a few times, I think it appropriate that we mark his death.

I believe there is a rememberance service this weekend, would be nice to hear from anyone on here that lives in the area and will be looking out for the parade of cars.

Great guy. Real shame his death is tainted by discussion of his prevailing illness and the suspicious circumstances of his accident. You'll never take away his achievements on the track, though.

Was it just me or did I sense a real atmosphere around Farnham today.
The Cars and the people were brilliant, to see Damon and Sir Stirling driving in those iconic cars around the streets of Farnham seemed to make everyone's day.
