I am finally going to have a go at fixing it.

My heater works and the fan works but a previous owner has fitted a switch that bypasses the standard heater on off and speed control switch.

I can now only have heater on full tilt or not at all. It annoys me.

So I guess that the variable TVR on/off switch is buggered - unless the speed control is cariied out by a black box somewhere?? So anyone ever tried replacing the TVR switch?

unles the one of the previous owners was lazy I am thinking that this must be a tricky job hence the addition of the replacement switch.

It's pretty easy to remove the whole heater Switch Assembly. It's held in by 2 Bendy bits of metal. Pry it off whilst at the same time feeling from behind the guage to jusdge how to bend the metal clips to realease the assembly. Once it's off you'll be able to check the soldered connections and find out whats wrong. Replacement assemblies should be pretty easy to get from Bell Hill/Douglas Valley etc.

I sorted mine out a couple of days ago. Took it out and found that a lot of the joints on the soldered circuit board looked a bit shabby so I just resoldered them, put it back on and it worked!

I hope that someone different soldered all the other circuit boards together though...
