does anyone know if the fuel pump should turn without fuel in the car? was doing a few checks before i fill the car with petrol(has'nt been used for six months during resto work). there is power to it and the earth is good. it may be jammed but i was trying to find out before i put some fuel in so i dont have to drain it again. is there any way you can free it? from memory the pump runs for a short time when the ignition is switched to the second click.
any advice please
cheers

Not sure how long you've run it but AFAIK the fuel provides the cooling to the pump so if you've run it too long when dry it may have overheated and or be dead now .
If you have fuel and power to the pump then it may be dead .
Need someone that has a similar car to answer this definatively though.
