Is global warming a cult?

Serious question time.
What defines a cult and does the Global Warming movement fall into that definition? I don't mean religion, I mean full blown cult.
I see it a bit like Scientology:

- A belief in something that hasn't been proven as a fact.
- Creating devices/models that have a desired outcome to prove their faith.

And yes....it is a cult.....they must be stopped!!!! Before they brainwash and harm more innocent human beings
I think it's gone beyond being a cult - there are too many people out there who are already brainwashed. I'm not even sure True Believers are in the minority any more.
Also, cults have mental-but-charismatic leaders who followers inexplicably, er, follow.
There is no "face of climate change" and the disciples remarkably believe what Gordon Brown and David Attenborough tell them - so it can't be a religion either. Neither of those is the Messiah.
Shame the IPCC didn't ask David Icke to be their spokesman - we'd have no trouble getting the public to believe it was a fairy story then...

All those hippy,Soap dodging types who used to protest for CND at Greenham Common have found a new cause to rally around.
This time their ranting and raving is fully supported by Government as it helps it further its own ends.

At the moment, it’s used as a one stop shop, or melting pot for the dregs of CND, Greenpeace, capitalist/aspire hating groups of all varieties.
These groups of orks (many of whom are so engrossed in their own hates and prejudices to realise they’re no more than expendable pawns) are lead by very clever people, who cream off the huge profits – and power.
So I think it’s more of a budding religion, and it’s very very depressing.

Definetly a cult. Followed by idiots who know nothing about it but jump on the bandwagon, forcing innocent people to buy more expensive 'green' options because they were stupid enough to fall for it in the first place. I'm all for being less wasteful and saving the planet but not at the expense of being ridiculed when I don't abide by it 100%. The 'green' ideology is just about conforming and looking like you give two s
ts but not having to do anything too different, people that won't donate £2 a month to NSPCC or Oxfam but will gladly spend £6 on a light bulb or £5000 on solar panels. Why? Because it gives you that feeling of self satisfaction and in the long run will save you about 8p, that's after the 10 years of paying the extra off the bill for going green.

Look, I've seen shed loads of reports both government and environmental I'm not going to waste my time by listing weather stations reports across the world. I'm not saying it's conclusive but it's certainly more likely than unlikely that the global temperature is rising. I've even read the scientific "evidence" put forward the government some years ago. I wonder if you've taken the time odyssey2200?
I'm not even speculating at what's causing it!
More intelligent people than me have tried and failed. I'm just saying the world is almost certainly getting warmer relative to a few years ago. Personally I think whether it's a problem or not remains to be seen and I do not believe CO2 emmissions could possibly be involved.

Not quoting science or data as per the OP request - the global climate has cooled for the last eight years.
If you follow the rules of the greenies and take advantage of single high temperature years, as they did at the time, the overall cooling is now for ten years.
Likely to continue, so the ideologues will be working overtime to keep the myth alive.
GW is a politically promoted, left wing ideology to futher socio-economic change and the redistribution of wealth.
This sits perfectly with the Loony hippys, who are happy to faom atthe mouth while not only promoting the governments line but actually demanding thatthey do more.

I don't know what you're basing that on and if your source is credible I'm happy to be proven wrong! But the United Nations, NASA and dozens of Universities are in disagreement with your comment.So I stand by my statement, "It is more likely than unlikely the temperature has risen recently".
I really have no personal bias in this!
Edit: With respect to the OPs request if someone can send me some credible proof that global warming is a myth I would like to see it as I'm genuinely interested?
