993 Turbo X50 (450 bhp model)

I'm compiling a document of information about the Turbo to forward to the insurance company and i've been trying to find out as much as possible about the 993 X50 (450 bhp model).

Thanks to guyvert1 on here, I now know the options and codes were as follows:

450hp (331kw):
XE7 - additional oil cooler for 993 Turbo S
XLB - Twin pipe exhaust 993 Turbo S
XLC - K24 Turbos inc. adapted ECU for 993 Turbo S.

It appears that the option of twin exhaust pipes were not specified for the car in question, so i'm assuming it should have the code X54 for the oval chrome exhaust pipes.

Also, about 6+ months ago, I got an email from Porsche confirming that only 12 450bhp 993 Turbos were brought to the UK, but I can't seem to find the email or the hard copy I printed out. I don't suppose anyone else has something similar?

Any additional information you guys might know would be appreciated.

Hi Mate,

If I recall, only the Turbo S came with the 2 x Twin Exhaust, X50 came with standard ovals

Well, the OEM Porsche 450hp powerkit came supplied with a pair of twin pipes. I had this installed on my car. On the rear boxes the final exit pipe is much shorter than that of those supplied with any other exhaust tip. This is because the twin pipe tip has a long piece of pipe already attached (and slightly wider) bthat runs behind the tip and up into the rear box.

just curious - what was the code for the 430bhp kit?

I thought it was only 403 and 430hp with the upgrade GT2 may have been 450

993 turbo was 408hp standard with optional 430 kit (ECU & Oil cooler) or 450 kit (ECU, Oil cooler, K24 Turbos and quad tail pipes).
996 Turbo was 420 hp standard, 450hp with X50 (K24 turbos)

Probably got it wrong but I thought that the 993 Turbo S was 450bhp along with the 2nd generation 993GT2 again running K24's.
