Sickening - Horses shot in the eye

"Heartless thugs shot a horse and a pony at point-blank range with an high-powered air-rifle, leaving vets no choice but to put one of the animals down."
I find this absolutely sickening, and saddening. What on earth posseses someone to do something like this?

I was reading about the serial killer Ted bundy. He started doing things like this to animals.
Sickening!
Yes and then he became a SERIAL KILLER!Sickening!
I don't understand Brits who care more about animals than people.
Man kills another man, maybe a quick story on local news.
Man Injures animal...Nat

While this act is absolutely awful, the Brits do seem to be enraged more by an animal being hurt?
I'm also wondering what sort of air rifle it is to qualify as "high power"....probably just a legal one, but that isn't such a shocking headline.
I hope they catch the boys responsible, and beat the living s
t out of them !TonyHetherington said:

I think we should bring back angry mobs...
Like the ones that threw paint stripper over the car of a paedeotrician (sp?) because they thought that meant he sexually abused kids?I agree with your sentiment, but angry mobs aren't exactly clever

Don't get me wrong, I'm more appalled by cases against humans, but in this instance you can be ALMOST sure that there is NO motive for the actions, which makes you wonder what goes through these peoples' minds. This obviously applies to some murder cases, but those are always far bigger news (e.g. the events in Belgium, which also have a post running).
Don't jump on the bandwagon that just because I posted about about cruelty against animals, I don't care about people.

Animals always trust humans and would never expect a human to do such a thing to them (unless they are repeatedly abused, in which case the animal is a wreck).

Slightly off topic I guess and not totally related....But it annoys me hugely the obligatory rubbish that is always written in the papers surrounding any sort of firearms. I recall the Daily Record printing a story after Dunblane about some kind of fully automatic legally owned pistol... 'you just hold the trigger down and out comes a stream of bullets.'
Bad people do bad things and should be punished accordingly, but bandwagons and lies is what it's all about in the media.
If the headline were true then it's no different to them using any other firearm which required an FAC. Shame it's likely a lie in this case, as that's bound to come with a lesser punishment if caught.
