Hi All,
I was reading on the VXR online forum and read that a few guys have had front and rear brakes replaced on the VXR8's
Do you think ill have a chance in hell getting my front disks replaced on my Ro under warranty?
Has anyone on here been successful in getting warranty to replace there Ro's from disk?

Discs seem to be a bit of a bone of contention. Some people have had success getting warranty replacements, others not. Personally I would tend to be pessimistic as strictly speaking discs are consumables. But, hey, you never know....if you can prove they're made of chalk and not fit for purpose, you may have a chance.

I did complain about them when the car had only done 5000 miles or less.

The answer is it depends on the dealer. We had ours done under warranty at Slaters Colwyn Bay with no problems at all although Lookers in Brum said there was no way. Phone around mate. PM me if you want any more details

Id suggest the problem is the pad specification rather than the disc. Discs dont fail on their own.

I can see small cracks all around the disc and they shake and make quite a bit of noise when im doing 150 plus or should i say 120 and above.
You can have a look at the Sunday if you like at Ace.

I'm guessing that my bit of information was of no use to you then.

I had the dreaded brake judder (front and rear) and I had my discs and pads replaced. I paid for the pads and the discs and labour were done under warranty. this was at picadors.

Can do if you want. Cracks are usually heat induced, so at some point they have been given a very hard time. Not a failing of the disc as such though.

The standard brakes on CV8 and VXR are shite. You can replace them as many times as you like and the same thing will happen eventually. The only way to cure it for good and add decent stopping power is to fit APs.
