Got a Porsche which went for some gearbox work. The result is that while it was in the workshop it has suffered some scratches and bodywork damage.

It amounts to some scratches in the laquer, which luckily aren't down to the basecoat, that I think can be carefully touched in.

There are some 'rub marks' where it looks like people have maybe dragged something past the car, again they're the kind of marks that would polish out.

Finally they washed the car with what looks like a crap dirty spong so now it's swirl city.

The bodywork is Lapis Blue so it is a bad colour for showing things like this up.

They have agreed to pay for these things to be sorted out, so I need someone not to far from Winchester to do it for me. Could someone point me in the direction of somewhere good please?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear about that- gutted for you. Nothing worse than trusting someone with your P&J and then they mistreat it.

Give LG Autoworx a try. Luke has done my car a few times before and is bloody brilliant. He's based in Chandler's Ford and mobile- he'll have it back to new in no time.

Good luck!

Just an aside, but surely the workshop should sort it? When I helped run a Porsche independent it was second nature to get stuff like this fixed - even, unfortunately, when we were positive we hadn't caused it. Good customer care, really. I know it's not English to mention these things and bite your tongue, but if you've had gearbox work it won't be the cheapest and you should be a customer they want to keep.

Well yeah, I agree with the sentiment there, but they're a gearbox rebuild company and not a paint detailing company. I guess the customer care comes from agreeing to pay for another paint professional to sort out the problems they have caused.

To be honest I just wanted my car out of there before they caused any more problems. It went back 3 times before they got the fault fixed! Gearbox now ok, so now I just want a paint specialist to sort the issues then i'll be happy. irked
