Well folks. I just recently bought a 02 mini one from the Isle of Man, the car is now over in Northern Ireland. The car came with cooper kit on it, full leather etc, but the interesting bit I thot was the xenon lights up front. It was brought over by a local dealer for me and according to him,the lights are not an aftermarket addition. Could someone help with this, is this a standard feature??? Also the front number plate is square, the whole front section is designed to be square compared to the other minis around the town. Would it be a case that the spec of Isle of Man cars is just different??

Thanks

There's nothing that actually goes by this name. Is it the Aero kit, consisting of side skirts and front and rear bumpers? What year is the car? Got a photo of the car?

It's easy to tell if they're the real lights or not. They need to have the washer integrated with it. And they will tilt automatically if the car is going up/downhill (or accelerating very fast!) smile

Could be a chav owner who went cruising? smile

Nope. Same as cars on the mainland.

not sure how to uplaod phots still tryin to figure that 1 out confusedlol The reason i asked the question was i was told the chili pack came with the xenon lights but as the car is only a ONE i didnt think the pack was fitted to them. There is no washers on the lights so must be non standard.

thanks lad

pop the bonnet and have a look, it's pretty easy to spot aftermarket kits. there basically the same.

if it looks something like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XENON-HID-Kit-H1-9005-h7-HB3...

it's an aftermarket kit. manafacturer kits don't have them type of connectors and tend to be a sealed unit

Seems pretty likely from what you're saying.

Xenon lights were speccable - i had them on my 2004 cooper, was an addition over the chilli pack, they only came as standard on the S with a chilli pack I think.
