CVH --> Type 9 RWD
Discussion
I have a Morgan with a 1600 CVH mated to a Type 9 by a Pinto clutch. I'm trying to identify the Flywheel. It has a 6 bolt CVH crank pattern and obviously a Pinto Clutch housing bolt patttern on the drive face side. It also has a Ford logo cast into it, but only a casting No. no part No.
It's not a standard CVH fly as the bolt pattern is not the same for the clutch housing although it is the right general size. I was wondering if it is a 1600/1800 CVH fly from a Sierra application when in the 80's until the end of production it used the CVH unit. Any ideas?

Morgan bought the engines from Fords aftermarket engine division, think they were called FordPower or powertrain from memory. The CVH engined Scimitar SS1s used the setup. PM Phil Howard on the scimitarweb and he'll fill you in as to what bits were used.

'Tis I hiding under another name on here..
It's not a UK flywheel "as is", as the UK CVH Sierra used a different starter (hence the ring gear is in a different position). I'd highly suspect that you could use a Sierra CVH flywheel (got one somewhere..just need to figure out which one it is) but you'd also have to change the starter motor to match (current one is stock Pinto fitment).

I'm having one custom made by TTV Racing near Ipswitch. So these should be available soon both Standard and Lightweight versions. Will be CVH crank bolt patern and Pinto Clutch ready to bolt straight onto a Type 9 with a stock starter.It's not a UK flywheel "as is", as the UK CVH Sierra used a different starter (hence the ring gear is in a different position). Yey.
