What will it do?

Well, after months of planning and building, we're 90% into our new building now (Dyno installed and running), so thought as we have done virtually all of it ourselves, it was time to reward ourselves with a bit of time on the Dyno with the Noble (Mine is an 04MY GTO 3R), and see what we'd got.
Started off with an initial very poor running on start up problem which had been present for some time but we'd not had time to look at due to other commitments.
An hour or so of methodical analysis, determined the boost control solenoid wasn't closing properly, causing the MAP sensor to read the wrong load site, hence massively rich tickover.
Cleaned, tested and back on the car, problem cured.
So strap down on the dyno, I was hoping it hadn't been tuned already, but seems it has,
Details of tune outlined in map info though and I will be dropping a "factory" map in so we can determine valid reference points as we progress.
So, we ran it up and results were 371BHP and 376lb/ft. I'm told that factory cars tend to see circa 320- 340bhp stock, so I guess it's not too bad. My car currently has a leaking back manifold (cracked) and OEM full exhaust.
Analysis of the plots, for boost and Lambda showed room for improvement though, peak power was at 0.65 Bar.
We ran through some steady progressive alterations richening up the Lambda as it was leaner than we would like to see it ran, and nudging the boost up a little as we went, it's coming up ealier now, and the torque plot is now much "better".
We also bought in a couple of degrees of advance with no det heard at all throughout (det cans). Car is on 97RON fuel ATM and while we've only had 2 hours of "fiddling and familiarisation" so far we've nudged up to 416BHP and 425 lb/ft Torque with peak power at .82 Bar.
I'll only be running it on V Power anyway so next session we expect to see some more gains yet.

That's roughly what I'm getting with remap, exhaust,fuel pump and I/C upgrade etc !
What were you intake temps like during the session ?

Factory intercooler, factory exhaust, and although I've not looked yet, I suspect OEM fuel pump as well.
Being nice and conservative so far.

Edited to add, we've not looked at post I/C temps yet Steve as we're not far enough down the road for it yet to be a limiting factor. I'm picking up a couple of K type thermocouples from RS on the way in to work in the morning though so we can monitor pre and post I/C temps. Mike.

Well, to be honest Alex, I hadn't thought about it too much as I was more interested in what my own car would do, so I'd not really considered whether we may be able to apply what we know across onto the Marque?

Early indications are that we will, based on what we've seen so far. The MBE software (compared to what we're ued to mapping with) is "clunky" and dis-jointed. Our IT guy has spent a lot of time with the software, just to "get in" if you catch my drift, and currently we can only map cars on the slightly earlier software, (D type serial port connector).
AS far as mapping set up goes though, currently we "can" but we are keen that we tread the path with my car and document/record each stage so we know how far we can go with each one.

I'm interested too, along with the exhaust we spoke about before. My 3 is stock, still with the early map which causes the slight rough running on hot start. I'm looking at fitting the exhaust at the same time as a motorsport fuel pump & LSD with the mapping done at the end.

Well, we can do all of that "in house", but the most likely next stage will be exhaust on my car, (once we've explored the sensible limits of tuning a stock car) and its not just as simple as bending the pipe either. Just as with other exhaust stuff we've done, we like to explore the options before we rubber stamp anything, but at least we've got the ball rolling now.

Thank's, need to make a repair to my rear exhaust manifold now though. Haha, might look at getting something better fabricated as they appear to have a short lifespan generally? we can get back to squeezing what we can out of these diddy little Turbos then. ;-)

Well, Others will have seen that while trying to see what can be squeezed out of a stock 3R, that the <insert expletive> rear manifold cracked quite substantially! We fixed it before the weekend, and re-assembled it yesterday, finally got a gap this afternoon and back onto the Dyno to pick up where we left off.
The graph above is the end result. There is a degree of safety even in this map and we will be running it unaltered like this for the forseeable future to see if anything can't keep up with the pace.
Both peak Torque and peak Power were below 1Bar of boost, running on Shell 'V Power' with no additives.
