Global warming - BBC backs off - ??

Feeling like a spot of masochism last night, I had George Galloway blathering away on the car radio.

He took a call from a wee leftie Scottish envirofreak who complained bitterly about bias within the BBC...

He claimed the beeb had pulled a series of programmes promoting man made global warming because...

Wait for it...

The programmes were perceived (by the beeb) to be based on politics, rather than science...

This flies in the face of BBC bias, which firmly backs the pro camp. Did they get their wires crossed, or did the caller get his wires crossed...?

Anybody know anything about this...?

Was that referring to the series they had produced and then when someone asked where the opposite view was they had no production of ANY shows which denied MMGW, therefore they had a real perceived Bias and therefore had to drop the series due to their licence agreement?

They've not let the truth get in the way of lefty bias for a long time, but they seem to be getting twitchy of late...

There was a (reasonably good) programme on BBC2 last night; an in-depth guide to Argentina aimed at the Guardian-reading type of tourist.

In one piece, they were interviewing local naturalists/scientists (I don't recall) about the shrinking of a major glacier. At the end of that piece the presenter announced that the diminution of the glacier demonstrated "a direct link" between it "and man-made global warming".

I couldn't believe it. I would have shrugged and accepted 'a direct link to global warming' comment, but to suggest that this remote change was directly linked to man-made actions certainly ensured a jaw-drop moment.

So the BBC isn't playing a consistent game.

But previous to that they showed the Gore glacier shelving massive chunks of ice, and the local guy saying it was a natural ocurrence every year and the glacier was stable. Gore used it in his fraud show to scare monger the gullible.
