Has anyone got any experience of the APS turbo package for the 350z?

I'm sure the very overengineered engine can cope with 400 odd bhp, but has anyone had any issues?

That sort of power in one of these must be a lot of fun biggrin

I have built 2 VQ35 engines, both had turbos.
They were using the turbonetics single turbo kit with a HKS T04Z turbo insted of the turbonetics one.

IMO the HKS twin turbo kit would be a beter option.

Its your choice but we didn't use the standard rods or pistons in ether engine.

Bit extreme for my liking Martin biggrin

Drop test - interesting info. Did you replace internals for peace of mind, or have you found their limit?

The rods are the weak point on the vq35.plenty of the yanks have destroyed motors using the standard bottom end.
forged bottom end is the only option really.for a reliable motor but adds a lot to the tt conversion
better off buying a ready built block from the states.and run 500 bhp easily with peace of mind.

as Marcus said we had seen what the yanks were getting up to.
the first one had CP pistons and Pouter rods, but with the pouter rods you need to modify ether the block or the rods because the had a clearance issue with the bottom of the bore, the cp pistons needed finishing by hand.
the second one had HKS pistons and rods.

Funny this has come up, just yesterday I was talking to a bloke who has a TTed VQ35 in an offroad racecar, currently poking out a reliable 560bhp on standard internals. Its tuned for low-rev grunt rather than high revs though which probably helps the reliability.
